Andhra CM Naidu focused on Industrial corridors

Vijayawada, Nov 22: The Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu is now focussed on the Industrial corridors, which attracted national attention.

This time, Chandrababu floated the idea of Constitution of Andhra Pradesh Industrial Corridor Development Authority (APICDA). The objective of the creation of Authority is to promote the setting up of industrial corridor. The authority will be headquartered in Amaravathi.

To this effect, government also introduced a new Bill pertaining to development of industrial corridors in various places across the state. The CM will head the new authority and the minister for industries minister will be the member-secretary.

The authority will look into development of corridors as part of the Visakhapatnam-Chennai Industrial Corridor (VCIC) and Chennai-Bengaluru Industrial Corridor (CBIC).

The authority will acquire land from a local authority or civic body. After that the authority will take up the planning, development, operation, maintenance, management and regulartion of industrial corridors in the state.
