39 employees held for corruption cases till Nov 18 : ACB DG

Vijayawada, Nov 22: The Andhra Pradesh Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) Director General R P Thakur said that the ACB court had convicted 39 persons in corruption cases till November 18, 2017, while 17 employees had been dismissed from service for indulging corruption.

Addressing a press conference here on Wednesday, he said that Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu asked to adopt zero tolerance in containing corruption as it stands hurdle for the growth of the state.

The ACB DG said that new strategies, including motivating the public to complain to the ACB, creating awareness is being adapted to plug corruption.

He underlined the need to establish corruption preventive division and find loopholes and plug them.

Mr. Thakur informed that establishing of special courts is taking place for the speedy trial of cases and said that the government notified four ACB Special Courts in Visakhapatnam, Vijayawada, Kurnool and Nellore and one more special court would be established in Rajahmundry soon.
