Veteran Congress Leader Priya Ranjan Dasmunsi passed away

New Delhi, November 20: Veteran Congress leader Priya Ranjan Dasmunsi passed away in a private hospital in Delhi on Monday.

Mr Dasmunsi had been critically ill over the past month, according to the Apollo hospital information, and died at 12.10 pm, in the presence of his wife Deepa Dasmunsi and their son.

In this regard, PM Modi tweeted that, "Priya Ranjan Dasmunsi was a popular leader with rich political and administrative experience. He did notable work to popularise football in India. Saddened by his demise."

His wife Deepa Dasmunsi, said, "It's all over… but he will be with me all the time to guide me."

On October 12, 2008, Priya Ranjan suffered a massive stroke and paralysis. Soon after the stroke, he went in to coma.
