Cyclone alert : Vizag to receive heavy rainfall

Vizag Nov 16: In a bid to alert the people the weather department has issued a warning regarding the cyclone heading towards Visakhapatnam.

weather dept officials have said that " the low pressure in the Bay of Bengal has strengthened into a cyclone and is currently centered at 80 km from Visakhapatnam and 210 km from Gopalpatnam in Odisha."

The dept has said that "The district would witness heavy rainfall in coming days and a high-speed winds with speed of 50 to 60 km an hour."



The officials have also alerted the fisherman and ordered them not to go for fishing because of heavy waves that occur in the sea.The cyclone is expected to hit the coast between Vizag and Odisha in coming days.

Officials have also said that "Rayalaseema and Telangana regions will also receive moderate rains."
