Cabinet grants relief for middle class under Housing scheme

New Delhi Nov 16: The union cabinet under the leadership of Prime Minister has taken some crucial decisions.

# Carpet area for housing scheme increased

The government has earlier two schemes of MIG-1 and MIG -2 which help the middle class to buy flat /houses

MIG-1: People whose income was between RS 6 lakh- 12 RS lakh were eligible and under this scheme 4 % interest subsidy for a Rs 9 lakh loan.

The cabinet has approved the increase in carpet area to 120 sqm from 90 sqm so that more benefit would be available.

MIG-2: People whose income was between RS 12 lakh-18 lakh. Under this scheme for a loan of RS 12 lakh 3 % interest subsidy was given.
The carpet area has been increased to 150 sqm from 110 sqm.

# CSS scheme for judicial infrastructure extended

The government has extended the centrally sponsored scheme for creation of Judiciary infrastructure such as the creation of court halls, construction of residential properties of judges .The government has extended the scheme from April 1, 2017, to 31 March 2020 and under this scheme 4000 court halls would be constructed and 8000 residential properties would be constructed.
