Araku to hold Hot Air Balloon Festival

Araku Nov 13: Arakau valley has geared up to hold balloon festival in the Visakhapatnam region from Tuesday to November 16.

Officers are making Elaborate arrangements for the festival at Madugada Kondaguttalu near Araku valley.

Officials have said that "As many as 300 delegates from 13 countries are expected to attend the festival and already 35 tents are pitched there for their stay.Special food arrangements are being made for the foreign delegates.

"The green valley and picturesque hills besides pleasant winter are bound to make an impression on the tourists" the organisers hope.

Samit Garg, CEO of E-Factor and SkyWaltz that has organised the festival in association with Andhra Pradesh Tourism said that "although hot air balloons can reach a maximum height of 50,000 feet above the sea level, the air traffic regulations only permit them to fly up to 2,500 feet."

Garg also said that "the craze for hot air balloons in India is increasing by about 25 percent every year and that more and more people are enthusiastic to try it out. “Jaipur is known as the capital of hot air balloons in India and that almost 30-40 people daily", he added.
