Minister KTR lauds decision of 24x7 power supply to agriculture sector

Siricilla, Nov 12: The Telangana IT Minister KT Rama Rao called the State government's decision to provide 24x7 power supply to agriculture sector as a historic one. First ever in the country, the government had taken a historic decision to protect the interests of the farming community, he said.

Participating in various development programme in his Sircilla Assembly constituency on Saturday, the Minister addressed a gathering at Ankireddypalli and Ramachandrapur villages, stating that Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao was striving hard for the development of the farming community.

"Round-the-clock power supply, distribution of quality seed and fertilisers, capital of Rs 4,000 per acre from next kharif season and other welfare schemes indicate the commitment of the government towards farmers," he pointed out. He said the government was instilling confidence among the poor on the future by providing pensions, he said.

Rama Rao said as announced by the Chief Minister to construct new buildings for gram panchayats, around 92 villages in Sircilla Assembly segments would be benefitted where new buildings would be constructed at cost of Rs 20 lakh each. He appealed people to support the government which was committed to the development of all sections of the society.

Earlier in the day, the Minister laid the foundation stone for double-lane road from Jillella to Mustabad at Jillella check-post and Thangallapalli to Turkapalli at Thangallapalli village, and a 33 KV sub-station at Ankireddypalli village, besides inaugurating village organisers building at Ankireddypalli.
