London :Court favoured Indian wanted bookie on Human Rights ground

Kiren Rijiju, the Union Minister of State for Home, met with his British counterpart today and pushed for the extradition of 13 wanted persons in India.

However, the Westminster Magistrate's court in London, recently favoured bookie Sanjeev Kumar Chawla, and refused to send him to India on the grounds that conditions in Delhi's tihar jail are "unsafe, inhuman and degrading" which would violate the human rights of Sanjeev.

With this decision of court, getting the extradition of Vijay Mallya is going to be tough for Indian officials.
The Westminster Magistrate's court in London is handling the Mallya case and is set to take it up in two weeks.
