KTR: Mega Food processing Zone to come up in State

NewDelhi Nov 4: Telangana State Food processing,
IT, Industries Minister KT Ramarao on Friday has said that a Mega Food Processing zone would come up in the state. The Minister has made the above remarks after he held several meetings with representatives of several companies in New Delhi at the Wold Food India Conference.

He has added that " an agreement to set up the zone has been finalised.Dakshin Agropolis signed a Memorandum of Understanding worth Rs 6,000 crore to establish a food processing zone at NIMZ in Zaheerabad and would require 300 acres.The food processing zone would generate employment for about 6,000 people which would consist of 5,000 women and 1,000 men".


"This investment would directly benefit at least 25,000 farmers, who would be a part of the FPO. The food processing unit will have designated units for maize, sugarcane, and other crops. This will be another feather in the State’s cap, as we have already taken up schemes to benefit sheep rearers and fishermen" said Rama Rao.

"Telangana Food Processing Society has also collaborated with a Germany-based Agri-business alliance. This collaboration would help in adopting farming methods from Germany in TS. This would also help in market research and increasing the farm yields among thigs." added KTR.
