Telugu version of Mersal gets U/A certificate

The Telugu version of Mersal, Adirindhi which was waiting to get cleared by censor has finally got cleared with U/A certificate. On November 2, the Telugu dubbed version of Vijay’s Mersal received U/A certificate from the censor board.

The movie was expected to release on October 27, but it was postponed. The decision was taken because the BJP had taken offence to the GST scene in the film, and some fans had attacked the censor board for supporting the political party.

Prasoon Joshi, the chief of censor board said “I am surprised with the accusations on the CBFC for the delay. It’s a usual process which is getting unfairly and unnecessarily sensationalised. The film will get its certificate by the CBFC as fairly as it got for its Tamil version.”.

Mersal has already joined the Rs 200 crore club. The film has reportedly collected Rs $11 million overseas. And now with release of Adirindhi the collection is expected to boost high.
