Russian President Vladimir Putin arrive in Iran

On Wednesday, Russian President Vladimir Putin arrived in Iran for a meeting with Tehran and Azerbaijan. This meeting came after the threats from US president Trump to end the nuclear deal with Iran.

The meeting with Tehran will focus on regional matters and terrorism.

The meeting is also expected to make progress in the railway and road projects between the three countries which share Caspian Sea.



Putin also is expected to meet with Iranian President Hassan Rouhani and Iran’s supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, who has final say on all state matters.

Prior to Putin’s arrival, Russia’s armed forces chief, Gen. Valery Gerasimov, met with his Iranian counterpart, Gen. Mohammad Hossein Bagheri, and discussed defense and security issues, Iranian state television reported on Wednesday
