UP: 150 injured and 8 killed

Today atleast 150 people were injured and 8 were killed when a boiler at a government power plant exploded. This incident took place in Rae Bareli of Uttar Pradesh in evening.

Chief minister Yogi Adityanath, is away for three days on a trip to Mauritius.
Chief Medical Officer KK Singh confirmed eight deaths at coal-fired plant owned by India’s biggest power utility NTPC Ltd.

NTPC operates a 1550 Mega Watt power plant of Uttar Pradesh, which is named after Feroze Gandhi, husband of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi.

“The chief minister has taken cognisance of the Unchahar accident and has directed principal secretary (home) to ensure that all steps are taken for rescue and relief,” principal secretary (information) Awanish Awasthi, who is accompanying Adityanath, said.
