Rahul Gandhi: Modi Govt double tap killed economy

on Thursday, Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi has accused the Modi government of firing "double tap" on Indian economy and killing it. He called demonetisation and GST as the fires that killed economy.

Attacking the government's Start Up India initiative, he said, "Start Up India cannot be accompanied by Shut Up India. It is imperative for the government to listen to you, trust you and believe in you", by this he conveyed the message that the government does not listen to common people and does whatever it wants without paying any heed to problems of common people faced by government actions.

He also attacked Arun Jaitley for claming that economy is fine and no bad effect has occurred. He said while businesses were drowning, the minister had "the nerve to go on TV every other day and say that things are just fine".

"First notebandi, bang, and then GST, bang, crippled our economy," he said. "The way this regime is working - or not working - has led to a double tap killing of the Indian economy. Commandos in a hostage situation fire what is called a double tap - two quick shots fired in the chest to ensure that their devil's target is down, is dead", he said.
