Padmavati: Vaghela Threatened violent protests; Get Hindus aprroval

Having quit the Congress after the Rajya Sabha polls this August, Vaghela and his new front, Jan Vikalp, are looking to get their entry back into Gujarat political scene. With the Gujarat Assembly election around the corner , Former Chief Minister of Gujarat, Shankersinh Vaghela, is trying to get attention by threatening "violent protests" against Padmavati unless Sanjay Leela Bhansali screens the film for Hindu and Kshatriya leaders before its release.

He said by screening the movie for Hindu groups , they can ensure that there is no distortion of history.

"As the movie is expected to be released on December 1, I want Bhansali to first show it to Hindu as well as Kshatriya leaders as people suspect that some facts have been distorted and presented in a wrong way in the movie," Vaghela told.

"If the movie is released without pre-screening, Gujarat will witness violent protests and law and order may go out of control."
