TJAC Chief calls Youth to participate in Koluvalakai kotlata

Hyderabad, Oct 21: The Telangana Joint Action Committee (TJAC) chairman M. Kodandaram has appealed to the youth to attend in large numbers in the proposed "Koluvalakai kotlata" public meeting on October 31 at Hyderabad demanding jobs.

He said the government had agreed that there were over one lakh jobs and made a statement in Assembly. There were over 1.5 lakh jobs but the government failed to issue notification and fill up vacancies. "The government has issued about 300 statements on DSC. But what happened you all know," he said.

One Ramakrishna in Narayankhed aspiring for teacher job had died due to frustration. There were several such instances in the state. The very struggle for separate statehood was for funds, water, and jobs. The government was neglecting this and driving youth to commit suicide.

As the vacancies lie unfilled, the employees were put to a lot of stress due to district reorganization. Many were asked to work to order at other places. They were not getting their due HRA and facilities to work in new places.

Mr. Kodandaram said the public meeting was aimed at the bringing pressure on the State government to fill all vacancies, ensure jobs in private companies to local youth and pay a stipend to unemployed youth as promised.

He also said the State government deliberately denied permission to his Amarula Spurti Yatra and they were forced to move Court. The state government was misusing its power and acting in an undemocratic manner, he said.

District Bar Association president Ch Rajendra Prasad and others were present.
