Newborn Infant Mortality-Cause for Concern

Though the world is advancing in scientific medical fields, infant Mortality rate has become a big problem. Our India is also facing the problem. Five Countries India, Pakistan, Nigeria, Congo,Ethiopia account for almost 50 % of newborn infant deaths in the world.Death of an infant within 4 weeks after birth is considered as newborn infant death.Daily about 7 thousand such deaths are taking place around the world.

To overcome this crisis the governments of these countries should take the precautions.Poverty is the main cause behind this. Lack of nutritional food hampers the growth of baby in mothers womb and its effect will be visible at the time of delivery. Lack of maternity facilities is another reason, in some countries hospital care, is beyond the reach of so many pregnant women.

At the time of delivery, unhygienic methods are followed in poor countries. This causes complications for mother and child.Still, quacks undertake the responsibilities at delivery time in poor countries.

In 2016 about 26 lakh newborn babies died worldwide. In India about 24 % of these deaths took place. Those who are surviving under such circumstances are facing the risk of pneumonia, Diarhoea like diseases.Premature births, problems at the time of birth have become reasons for about 30 % of baby deaths. The bulletins released by World Health Organisations(WHO), United Nations International Children Educational Fund(UNICEF), World Bank, like organisations are also highlighting these problems.

Medical people with expertise, inoculation, medicines availability at low cost, breastfeeding of babies, mothers care problems ought to be given due consideration.Weak and unhealthy infants, children become more problem for the world in future.
