Pet dogs, strays, and working dogs have treated alike, where they are worshipped and honored with flower garlands, rice, yogurt, and of course their favorite treats or high-quality dog food. A red mark, or tika, is applied to their foreheads too as a blessing. This marks the dog as a devotee of the righteous path and as an object of devotion.Pooches are praised and painted, with wreaths of flowers being placed around their necks.
