Kerala CM to inaugurate Responsible Tourism Mission

Kerala, Oct 19: The Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan will inaugurate Responsible Tourism Mission, an innovative and mutually viable concept by Kerala Tourism aiming at the development of Tourism without affecting or engendering disturbance to the livelihood of people who reside in or around a particular locality at Kumarakom on Friday.

Responsible Tourism plan largely focuses on destinations that are mostly areas covered by backwater, sea, wildlife, heritage, a variety of natural beauty as the primary objective is, ensuring extra income and livelihood for agricultural laborers, traditional industrial workers and marginalised communities in these areas and also to give equal importance to the social-environmental parity.

The Responsible Tourism Mission is a very serious objective of Kerala Government wherein it includes several objectives that make optimum use of ecological process and activities that help in Reduction of poverty, women empowerment, community development etc thereby bestowing a positive impact on the environment, society and culture.
