CM KCR about Telangana Assembly Winter Sessions

Hyderabad, Oct 18: The Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao has called for meaningful discussions with Ministers and MLAs during the forthcoming session of Telangana State Legislature scheduled to commence on October 27.

Terming the ensuing session as 'very important one', the Chief Minister urged his Cabinet Ministers as well as officials to be well prepared to answer all the questions raised by the legislators. He asked the Ministers to make categorical statements on various government programmes, schemes, and projects.

The State government sent a proposal to TS Assembly Secretary Vedantham Narasimhacharyulu after Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao gave his nod proposing to hold the session with at least 15-20 working days over a period of one month. The Business Advisory Committee (BAC) will meet on October 26 to chalk out the schedule.

In a meeting with the Cabinet Ministers and top officials at Pragathi Bhavan here on Tuesday, the Chief Minister wanted the officials to hold both the Assembly and the Council sessions concurrently and ensure discussion on issues including government initiatives as well as proposed bills in both the Houses.

He asked the officials to be prepared to issue answers and clarify questions raised by the Opposition parties without fail.

"The State government should be ready for discussion on issues raised by the legislators of all parties and clarify their doubts. Both the Ministers and the officials should be prepared to answer the questions raised by the members of both the Houses. We should also be ready to consider any suggestion made by the legislators," Chandrashekhar Rao told the Ministers and officials.

Stating that some Bills need to be passed in this sessions, the Chief Minister said: "In the past, Telangana State Assembly had passed several resolutions and sent them to the Centre but the latter did not respond. Hence, there is a need to pass these resolutions again to exert pressure on the Centre," the Chief Minister said.
