Rohingya refugee held for carrying fake Aadhar card

Hyderabad, Oct 16: The Balapur Police have arrested a 19-year-old Rohingya refugee on charges of procuring Aadhaar card illegally here on Sunday.

According to the police, the suspect arrested was identified as Mohammad Azamuddin alias Molla Azamuddin, a resident of Royal Colony in Balapur and native of Cox Bazar in Bangladesh.

The police also arrested another person, Riyazuddin Molla for allegedly helping Azamuddin in obtaining local citizenship in an unlawful way.

"Azamuddin came to India with the help of Riyazuddin, who by introducing the former as his son helped him get a fake Aadhaar card," said M Sudhakar, Sub-Inspector, Balapur.

The police have seized the fake Aadhaar card and produced the suspects before the court after which they were remanded to judicial custody.
