The pollution was showing its harmful effects on our respiratory system, causing or increasing related ailments. So to say alarmed by the problem and practically feeling the pinch, supreme court interfered and imposed some restrictions at that time.

Now a few days behind Diwali, the festival of lights in which various firecrackers are used, it is imminent sounds and smoke limits exceed the normalcy. Our Supreme Court entered into precaution mode by imposing the ban on the sale of firecrackers.

How far the ban will be successful is a different matter. But up to November 1st, the festival is greatly impacted in the Delhi and National capital Region (NCR) by these court orders.

Crores of Rupees worth Crackers are stored in thousands of stores and shops in Delhi and surrounding areas. Unlike the metropolitan cities like Mumbai, Kolkata now Delhi citizens are confronted with this problem of pale Diwali; without sound and light activity.

On another side merchants, small and big are worried about consequences of the orders. They will be deprived of profit on the already stored material. Sivakas in Tamilnadu, one of the main towns where crackers are manufactured and supplied will also be hit by the order.

It is unimaginable, the people of Delhi will keep away from the deafening sounds, Myriad colors of Diwali firecrackers. At the same time, we also remember so many children, elders injured in the usage of crackers every year.
