Telangana to recruit more IPS officers next year

Hyderabad, Oct 5: Here is a good news to Police job aspirants, especially for IPS job lovers, because Telangana is likely to get more IPS officers next year.

The central government wrote a letter to the state government seeking details of the vacancies and promotions of IPS officers.

After the state's erstwhile 10 districts were reorganized to 31, there arose a severe crunch of IPS officers which hit the police functioning badly. As a temporary measure, the state government has appointed officers of additional SP/DCP rank as officers on special duty (OSD) and districts SPs.

The central government letter to the state has brought some relief to senior police officers who felt that the Union ministry of home affairs would allocate more IPS officers to the state keeping in mind the present crunch.

Union secretary Pankaj Gangwar wrote the letter recently, seeking details of IPS officers appointed on promotion, regulations on promotions such as year-wise select list preparation and dynamic determination of vacancies.

A senior police officer said that it would be good that the state would be getting some more IPS officers and more allocations are expected to fill up the vacancies in the police department.

Recently, the central government allocated three IPS officers- Chetana Mailamathula, Rakshita K Murthy and Patil Sangramam Singh Ganapati Rao- to Telangana after their training at the National Police Academy.
