ACB raids on senior ICDS employee, Rs.50 Cr worth assets seized

Ananthapur, Oct 5: The ACB officials have arrested an employee of the Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) department here on Wednesday and seized assets estimated at over Rs.50 crore.

The ACB sleuths carried out raids against K.V. Narayana Reddy, working as Senior Assistant in the nutrition supply section of the ICDS department at Kadiri (West). They have conducted simultaneous raids at eight different places in Anantapur and Chittoor districts.

Searches were conducted at the accused official’s house at Kovur Nagar in Anantapur and at several places in the district, and also in his hometown of Ramacherla village in Pakala Mandal of Chittoor district.

Deputy Superintendent of ACB Jayaramaraju told media that their searches unearthed disproportionate assets worth several crores estimated to be over Rs. 50 crores the estimates of which were yet to be completed.

Besides these, four agricultural plots measuring several acres each were identified in Anantapur urban, Anantapur rural and Pamidi mandals of Anantapur district.

Documents pertaining to a single-storeyed building, a house site in Anantapur and agricultural land in Golakuru village in the name of the accused's son were also found.

A single-storeyed building and a house in Kakkalapalli village on the outskirts of Anantapur in the name of the accused's daughter-in-law were seized.

Other than the seized properties, one kg gold, 1.5 kg of silver and Rs. 2.32 lakh of cash were also seized, besides a car and three motorcycles.

The accused has been arrested while the case is under investigation.
