Pakistan deputy High commissioneer summoned by India over death of childrens

On Tuesday, India's Join Secretary in the Ministry of External Affairs, Deepak Mittal, summoned Pakistan's Deputy High Commissioner, Syed Haider Shah, over killing of three childrens in ceasefire violations by Pakistani forces.

Pakistani forces have continuously violated the 2003 Ceasefire Understanding. In one of such incident on october 2, three childrens died due to cross border firing.

A straight and strong message was conveyed to Pakistan that "such deliberate targeting of civilians was not acceptable and was against humanitarian norms and practices."

"Strong concern was also expressed at continued unprovoked firing by Pakistan forces across the Line of Control and the International Boundary in violation of the 2003 Ceasefire Understanding. 503 such violations have been carried out by Pakistan forces so far during 2017", the MEA statement said.
