After UN, now US says Myanmar military operations is ethnic cleansing.

US echoed the words of UN and said that the ongoing crises is due to ethnic cleansing by Myanmar. UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres warned that the violence against Myanmar's Rohingya Muslims in the northern part of Rakhine state could spread to central Rakhine. If this happens then about 250,000 more people will become refugees.

Guterres told the UN Security Council that the violence has led to worlds fastest developing refugee crises

"We have received bone-chilling accounts from those who fled - mainly women, children and the elderly," he said. "These testimonials point to excessive violence and serious violations of human rights, including indiscriminate firing of weapons, the use of landmines against civilians and sexual violence."
