Lajcak on Pakistan using fake photo in UN assembly

Pakistan's use of fake photo to mislead the UN General Assembly raised concern and UN General Assembly President Miroslav Lajcak said will think about suggestions to prevent the platform from being used to depict fake pictures.

When External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj attacked Pakistan for supporting terror group , Pakistan's Permanent Representative to the UN Maleeha Lodhi, on the floor of the UN General Assembly on Saturday, held up a photograph of a woman whose face was peppered with alleged pellet gun wounds.

"This is the face of Indian democracy," Lodhi had claimed.

But it was soon revealed by India that the photo was of a victim of an Israeli attack,17-year-old Rawya abu Jomaa of Gaza.

When asked if prevent countries from using fake photos in future, Lajcak said, "I will certainly think about it ,your suggestions"."It is not for me to answer. Its for the delegations that are involved. I want to use but not misuse my position as President of the General Assembly," he said.
