Barricades provide relief to metro commuters in Ghaziabad

Encroachments on the Madan Mohan Malviya Nagar Marg, near the Vaishali Metro station was increased to a level that commuters were facing problem in entering the Metro station.The Ghaziabad traffic police has erected a 50-metre barricade on both sides of the road, to ensure that autorickshaws are not parked infront of the main carriageway.

Public had found relief due to the barricades and congestion was erased. Rajesh Tiwari, an inspector with the traffic police department, said, “The commuter traffic at Vaishali Metro station is more than that at other stations, as it is a terminal. Hence, autorickshaws also gather here in large numbers to pick up commuters. Earlier, these autorickshaws used to remain haphazardly parked, consuming most part of the main road and subsequently causing traffic congestion.”
