HMR Completes 100 percent pillars construction in LBnagar-Miyapur Strech

Hyderabad Sept 26: L&T and Hyderabad Metro Rail Authorities have achieved another feat and made significant progress in the construction of Hyderabad metro rail project.

HMRL has completed the construction of all the pillars in corridor 1 between LB Nagar and Miyapur . currently there are 1108 pillars in between the stretches of 29.21 Km. The authorities have completed the work after the 2 pillars left out in Nampally have been completed.

Engineering Hurdles

The authorities have said that the construction of pillars in the huge crowded city and heavy traffic was a herculean task. They said that they had faced challenges such as underground drainage pipes, electric poles, telecom and optic fibers and there were no mapping of the cables with respective departments. The engineers have found out a nizam era drainage pipe in Nampally when they dug the ground for construction of the pillars and this has delayed the construction.

Work Progress

Authorities said that the corridor 1 would be opened by December 2018.Currently, the viaducts are being erected at Nampally and Lakdikapul .and 28.44 Km of Viaducts have already being erected.

The station works are being carried out at Mahatma Gandhi bus station, Nampally and Assembly stations are left out.
