TPCC Chief Uttam Kumar demands TS Govt to withdraw GO.39

Hyderabad, Sept 26: The Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) Chief N Uttam Kumar Reddy urged on Monday the Telangana State Government to immediately withdraw GO No.39 which pertains to the formation of farmers' committees (Rythu Samanvaya Samithis) at various levels.

While addressing the media at the FTAPCCI Building, he alleged that Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao intends to accommodate TRS workers in the proposed committees.

Clarifying that Congress was not against the amount disbursed as input subsidy to farmers, he said that it could be distributed through district administration and not through 'TRS committees'.

He then alleged that there were flaws in the government order, as the entire exercise was being carried out on the directions of the Chief Minister.

Also present at the meet Prof Kodandaram, claimed that the present exercise was being carried out by the State government is no more than an attempt to cover up the failures during the last three years.

"Of the 12 initiatives taken up by the State government, as mentioned in the GO MS 39, three of them had failed while others remained non-starters," he said.

He called all political parties, public, students, women and caste groups called for a peaceful protest against GO 39 on October 3.
