PM Modi reconstitutes Economic Advisory Council to revive GDP growth

New Delhi, September 26: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has made a key decision to improve the economy of the country.

The Economic Advisory Council was announced Monday. The advisory council will be headed by a well-known economist, Niti Aoyog member BibeK Debroy.

The five-member panel will include NITI Aayog’s principal adviser Ratan Watal as its member and economists Surjit Bhalla, Rathin Roy and Ashima Goyal as part-time members.



The council will advise the Prime Minister on financial matters and other issues.

"Addressing issues of macroeconomic importance and presenting views thereon to the Prime Minister. This could be either suo-motu or on reference from the Prime Minister or anyone else," is the key term of reference for the panel.
