ED attaches Rs 1.16cr assets of Karti Chidambaram

New Delhi Sept 25: The Enforcement Directorate on Monday has attached the assets of Karti Chidambaram, son of former finance minister P Chidambaram. Assests worth Rs 1.16 crore were attached in connection with its money laundering probe in the Aircel-Maxis deal.

ED has said that "it has issued a provisional attachment order under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) attaching assets "of Karti in the form of fixed deposits and balance in saving bank account to the tune of Rs 90 lakh approximately."



The central probe agency also said that "another Rs 26 lakh fixed deposits in the name of a firm Advantage Strategic Consulting Private Limited (ASCPL) has also been attached under provisions of the anti-money laundering law.

ED has started its probe after CBI has filed a FIR against karti Chidambaram as there were allegations of Money laundering in Aircel-Maxis deal.
