Telangana's Rajanna-Sircilla bags top rank for sanitation, ODF

Rajanna-Sircilla, Sept 25: The Telangana's Rajanna-Sircilla district has created a history of sorts and secured first place at the national level in Swachhata Darpan program taken up as part of Swachh Bharat Mission.
In addition to the Rajna sirclilla district, Hooghly, Nadia in West Bengal, Dantheri in Chhattisgarh and Gwalior district of Madhya Pradesh are bagged the top ranks.
The Center announced the list on Sunday. The district authorities have received official information. A few days ago, the survey found that construction of toilets construction has done in Rajina Sirisilla district was 100 per cent. The district has got 100% marks in pure drinking water and in the garbage collection. The Center has taken a look at the sanitation work in the zones along with the town of Sirisila and found it to be a clean district.
In all, 35 districts across the country secured the first rank among which Rajanna Sircilla district is the only South Indian district other than Udupi from Karnataka to secure the top position for cleanliness,open defecation free, and construction of individual toilets.
Top ranking districts will receive the first ever awards Swachhata Darpan awards at a function in New Delhi on October 2, marking third anniversary of launching Swachh Bharat Mission.
