Prices of Essential Commodities dropped

Chennai Sept 24: The prices of wholesale foodgrains in the market have declined during the week ended today.The prices of Thoor dal, urad dal, gram dal, sugar, and maida have declined but the cost of moong dal increased.

Thoor dal cost Rs 7600 per quintal and a drop of Rs 200 per quintal was recorded.
Urad dal recorded a price of Rs 8400 per quintal and a drop of Rs 200 was observed.
Gram dal cost Rs.7,600 and recorded a sharp drop of Rs 400 in a week

Sugar cost Rs 4050 per quintal and the price was eased marginally by RS 30 per quintal.

Maida 90 kgs fetched a price of Rs.2,600, a drop of Rs 100 was observed.

However some o9f the essential commodities remain unchanged.

Experts said that adequate supply and low inflation were responsible for the drop in prices of the essential commodities.
