Rahul Gandhi:NRI are backbone of India; Mahatma Gandhi,Ambedkar,Nehru,Patel, Maulana Azad

Rahul Gandhi, who is in US for a two-week visit said NRIs are as the backbone of the country and has asked NRIs to take part in congress. He asked NRIs to participate in transforming India, and also said that India’s forefathers were all ‘NRIs’.

Rahul Gandhi on Thursday said, "Mahatma Gandhi was an NRI. Jawaharlal Nehru came back from England. Ambedkar, Patel, Maulana Azad, every one of them went to the outside world, saw the outside world, returned to India and used some of the ideas that they had got and transformed India."

He praised the contribution of NRIs to the country's progress and said that he feels proud of them.
