Mamata Banerjee slams HC: Will do what I can to keep peace

Mamata Banerjee slammed High court, when HC court allowed immersion of Durga idols on all days from Vijayadashami on September 30, including on Muharram.

"I will do what I can to keep peace," said West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, who was concerned about threat to peace if Muharram and immersion are done together.

"Someone can slit my throat but no one can tell me what to do," Banerjee said in Kolkata and directed her government to make necessary security arrangements. She also said that when she celebrates any non-Muslim festival no one asks her, but when she goes to Muslim festival people term it as appeasement. She also accused the central government of conspiring against Bengal.
