Union Work begins AIIMS construction works

Vijayawada, Sept 20: The Union Government had begun the construction works of All India Institute Of Medical Science in Mangalagiri finally on Tuesday. The designs of the premier institute are finalized and the contract is awarded. The project is estimated to cost 1680 Crore and the first phase works will go on for 250 Crore.

Currently, the compound wall works and the main entrance works are going on. The district administration is also constructing a 100 feet road connecting the building to the nearest National Highway to help the patients, doctors, HODs, and others to commute.

On the other side, MBBS classes in AIIMS will begin from this year. 50 students will be admitted this year and the classes will go on in temporary buildings in Siddhartha Medical College, Vijayawada. Eight Temporary buildings will be constructed with 5 Crore.
