AP to set up 7 Govt Polytechnic Colleges

Vijayawada, Sept 17: The Andhra Pradesh will set up 7 new Government Polytechnic Colleges in the state.

The National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) has sanctioned Rs 50.36 crore under Rural Infrastructure Development Fund - XXIII (RIDF XXIII) as loan assistance for construction of seven new Government Polytechnic Colleges in the State.

The colleges will come up in Tadipatri of Anantapur district, Paleripattu in Chittoor district, Krosuru in Guntur district, Pithapuram in East Godavari district, Kamalapuram in Kadapa district and Tadepalligudem and Jangareddygudem in West Godavari district.

NABARD also sanctioned an amount of Rs.25.5 crore for improving the overall quality of education and for providing additional infrastructure facilities such as dormitories, toilet blocks, kitchen, Overhead Service Reservoirs (OHSR), computer labs, RO plant (safe drinking water) for 21 Tribal Welfare Residential Schools in seven districts of the State.
