Telangana Celebrated Merger/Liberation day

Hyderabad Sept 17: Telangana Merger/ Liberation day is being celebrated all across the Telangana state with fervor by unfurling of the national flag at the offices of political parties.

Many people have also greeted wishes on the occasion. The day marks its specialty because Hyderabad was merged with the Indian union on Sept 17, 1948.

"The ruling party Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS), the main opposition Congress and others celebrated the merger day, however, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) celebrated it as "liberation day".

Earlier the BJP party has demanded that the government must celebrate the day officially and alleged that the TRS Government is appealing the Muslims and has forgotten the important sacrifices made by the heroes who fought for liberation.

However, the TRS had hit back at the BJP and said that there is no need to develop merger day as government festival and said that national party is trying to divide the people based on communal lines.
