C.M.'s assurance to.......

Vijayawada, Nov 12 : On Friday the Hindupur Power loom Masters and Weavers Welfare Association representatives met the C.M. of A.P. and they has made a request to the CM.

Chandra babu Naidu, the Chief Minister of A.P. has responded positively to the request made by power-loom weaver and gave assurance to them.

How ever, the A.P. government was imposing a tax of 5 percent on Power-loom weavers. Power loom weavers has made a request to CM by saying not to collect any tax on Power loom saris.

They also extended it, by saying the neigh-boring States of Karnataka and Tamil Nadu were not collecting any tax on power loom saris.

They said that, the officials were harassing them by seizing the Saris under the pretext of tax and being sending the saris to Bangalore.

The taxes and officials harassment were pushing them into losses, they said. Moreover, 40,000 Power loom workers are in Hindupur constituency alone.

Knowing the fact from Power-loom weavers the C.M assured that the tax would be withdrawn in Hindupur.
