Rohingya Muslims crisis: Sikh volunteers make 35,000 meals per day at Bangladesh-Myanmar border

Guru ka langar began at Bangladesh-Myanmar border today and served 35,000 meals. The sikh volunteers bought vegetables, utensils from the market, cooked and served rice and vegetables.

The relief work began after getting permission from Bangladesh government to start the 'Guru ka langar' (community kitchen preparing and serving fresh hot meals) on Thursday. Initially packets of food and water are being distributed to the refugees.

Gursahib Singh, a volunteer in Ludhiana said, “The langar there can continue only if we have requisite funds. We request people to donate for the sake of humanity. Please forget about religion barriers and think about the children who are sleeping with empty stomachs. They are also humans.”
