Ahmedabad-Mumbai bullet train: Foundation laid by Modi and Abe.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Japanese counterpart Shinzo Abe on Thursday laid the foundation of first high speed bullet train rail project. This train will link Mumbai to Ahmedabad, the main city in Modi’s home state Gujarat. This project is worth around Rs 1,10,000-crore and 81 percent of the project cost had been funded by Japan at interest rate of 0.1%, repayable over 50 years.

This project is going to create huge amount of job oppurtunities in India.The rail project line is estimated to be completed in 5-6 years(2022-23). There will be a seven kilometer tunnel under the sea at Thane creek. The maximum speed of bullet train will be 350 Kmph and minimum will be 320 kmph. 12 stations including Mumbai, Thane, Virar, Vadodra, Anand and Sabarmati will get linked by the line.
