Telangana plans to held Maha Bathukamma event

Hyderabad, Sept 9: The Telangana's Prestigious festival 'Bathukamma' will be celebrated for nine days from September 20 across the state.

The Officials are making arrangements for Bathukamma Festival to be celebrated across the state on a grand scale, Minister for State Tourism Development A Chandulal told reporters here on Saturday after a review meeting with officials on the festival.

The Minister said that the arrangements should be noted by the works on the rich culture of Telangana.

Mr. Chandulal said the tourists of National and International will be welcomed through flowers to mark the floral festival of Bathukamma during the festivities in the city.



We have planned to conduct Maha Bathukamma at Lal Bahadur Stadium wherein 35000 women (1000 from each 30 districts) will attend and Brahma Kumaris made arrangements to rope in 150 women from 15 other states to participate in this mega event, the Minister said.

On the final day, Saddula Bathukamma will be held at Tank Bund followed by a rally from Peoples Plaza to Bathukamma ghat, he added.
