GST on 30 goods reduced

Hyderabad Sept 10: The 21 GST Council crucial meeting took place yesterday in Hyderabad. The council has taken some crucial important decisions.

* Khadi Fabric sold through Khadi and Village Industries Commission Act of 1956 (KVIC) stores will now be exempted under GST.currently, 5 % GST is imposed on fabric.

* The GST rates on 30 items of mass consumption were reduced these include

* Roasted gram

* idli/dosa batter

* oil cakes

* raincoats (from 28 % to 18 %)

* Rubber bands

* Tamarind

* custard powder

* Agarbatthis



* Computer monitors

* kitchen gas lighters

* brooms

* brushes

* saree fall

* corduroy fabric

* table

* kitchenware

* prayer beads

* clay idols

Some categories of handlooms have also been exempted .
