Law Minister warns people for spreading hate messages

New Delhi, Sept 7: An incident has shocked India.
Senior Journalist Gauri Lankesh Murder has created ripples in the society. Many Journalists and politicians have condemned her death.

Many activists and press club members have protested against the murder. Her last rites were conducted with full honor yesterday and many people have attended the event.

However, some people have started spreading hate messages on social media. They have even justified her murder. They have also said that there is no place for others to raise the voice.

Reacting to these messages Union Law Minister has said that "Expressing happiness on the killing of anyone is shameful, regrettable and totally against Indian traditions, Social media is not for that."

He has also said that "I strongly condemn & deplore the messages on social media expressing happiness on the dastardly murder of #Gaurilankesh".

He has also said that "people would be sent to jail if they defame any person alive or dead under the current Indian laws".Finally, he hoped that "the Karnataka police would soon nab the killers."

The state government has yesterday has formed a Special Investigation Team to probe the crime.
