KTR urges officials to wear Handloom clothes on every Monday

New Delhi, Sept 05; The Telangana Minister textiles and industries KT Ramarao has directed staff and officials of Telangana Bhavan to must wear handloom clothes on every Monday in New Delhi. The Telangana Bhavan resident commissioner Aravind Kumar has distributed clothes manufactured by the Telangana State Handloom Weavers' Cooperative Society to employees on Monday.

While speaking at a meeting organized at Gurajada Hall, he exhorted all Group I officers to subordinate staff to make it a point to sport handloom clothes.

The officials concerned had distributed handloom garments to officials and drivers in the first phase on August 7, coinciding with the National Handlooms Day and clothes were distributed to the remaining staff on Monday. The move forms part of efforts to encourage weavers community and Telangana had turned out to be a role model for other States in this direction, he said according to an official release.
