RBI :No Information on Black Money destroyed

New Delhi Sept 5: Reserve Bank of India (RBI) yesterday has shared some information. RBI has told a parliamentary panel that "it has no information on how much black money has been extinguished as a result of demonetization of Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes."

The central bank has also said that " it has no information whether demonetization is being planned to be implemented at regular intervals."

The statements made by RBI assumes significance because recently the bank has released the details of the amount deposited in the banks after demonetization.

Many opposition parties have criticized the government and said the demonetization was a failure because 99 % of scrapped notes have returned to the banks.

Earlier RBI governor Urjit Patel has said to the parliamentary panel has said that he had no information on the amount of money deposited because the counting was in process.
