Farmers suicide attempt infront of MLA office

Karimnagar, Sept 4: Here a gruesome incident has appeared, while two Dalit youth have attempted suicide by set afire in front of the camp office of Manakondur MLA and State Cultural Council Chairman Rasamayi Balakishan in Karimnagar on Sunday evening.

While coming to details, The victims are identified as Mahankali Srinivas (27) and Yalala Parushramulu (26) of Gudem village of Bejjanki mandal from Siddipet district visited the camp office of the legislator, doused themselves with kerosene, and attempted self-immolation.

They sustained more than 40% burn injuries. The local residents shifted them to the government headquarters hospital in the town. The victims had been pleading MLA to allocate three acres of land to them as promised by the State Government during the elections.

Alleging that the authorities had provided land to ineligible beneficiaries. On failing to get land allocated, they reportedly resorted to this drastic attempt.

As soon as the news spread, Minister Etala Rajender, Karimnagar MP B. Vinod Kumar, MLA Gangula Kamalar and others rushed to the hospital and consoled the victims and assured to do the justice for them. Meanwhile, the two Dalit youths were shifted to Hyderabad for better treatment.
