AP Tourism secured Safari India South Asia Travel Award

New Delhi, Sept 3: The Andhra Pradesh Tourism has secured an award for its tourist properties in Konaseema. The Deputy Director of Andhra Pradesh Tourism Authority received the Safari India South Asia Travel Award for Konaseema which has been declared the best riverine destination of India, from Chairman of the Railway Board Ashwani Lohani.

The award ceremony was organized by Pacific Area Travel Writers' Association (PATWA) held at hotel Ashoka in Delhi on Friday. Speaking on the occasion, CEO and Managing Director of AP Tourism Himanshu Shukla said the picturesque Konaseema region has high potential which can be further explored.

A website called www.konaseema.goandhrapradesh.com was created. He said the lush greenery, the experience of a stay on a house boat in the backwaters was worth giving a try. The Konaseema delta was also one of the most fertile and beautiful areas of Andhra Pradesh. AP Tourism also bagged Best Managed Tourist Destination award.
