Adani and SAAB to tie up for Make-in-India fighter jets

Make-in-India deal will come true if IAF selects Adani. Adani and SAAB (a Swedish defence major) will work together if Adani is selected for the multibillion dollar deal of single engine fighter jets.

Over 100 of single engine fighter jets deal tender is going to be issued by Indian Air Force. Adani announced that Gripen fighter jets will be manufactured in India with the collaboration of SAAB.

“Our plans in India are to create a new defence eco system that would involve many partners, vendors and suppliers… Building new fighters is very similar to doing high technology projects in energy sector,” said Hakan Buskhe, president and CEO of SAAB.

The tie up will depend on the selection of Adani in the evaluation process.
