Hyderabad HC lawyers to stage a protest

Hyderabad, Aug 26: The common division bench Hyderabad High Court lawyers will stage a protest during lunch hour on August 28 opposing the introduction of Advocates (Amendment), Bill 2017.

While speaking to media persons here on Saturday, All India Lawyers Union President G Vidya Sagar said that the Bill will allow the foreign advocates into the Indian Courts which will not augur well for advocates and legal fraternity.

He said the foreign advocates were allowed in their respective Courts with the bilateral agreement only. Now virtue of this Bill, the foreign advocates will be permitted directly into the Courts without registering in Bar Council of India.

" We do not have any objection If similar reciprocal arrangement should be made in other countries also", he said.

"The All India Lawyers Union requested the advocates in Hyderabad High Court to participate in the protest program", he added.
